We are now many working on it!

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

    Channel ID: -57591245
Channel Name: Gottin's Lamp - Kitchen
    Listener: Lyn Farel
    Session started: 2015.05.06 15:22:45
    ---------------------------------------------------------------

[ 2015.05.06 15:22:45 ] EVE System > Channel MOTD: Private SFRIM IC channel. Unwelcome rp will be deemed not to have happened and those responsible will be kicked.Moderators: Nicoletta Mithra Lunarisse Aspenstar Location: SFRIM Offices, Kitchen, Nahyeen VII, Zoar & Sons FactorySetting: The smells of cooking food seem to always permeate from this place. You will usually see one or two Society members in here, making a meal after a long day in space, be it charging into battle, or dealing with the long hauls. It sports a large pantry, always fully stocked, a gas range and oven, and what looks to be a second-hand deep fryer that has seen a good bit of use. The fridge is next to the sink, and has a pull-out freezer stocked with meats and vegetables. If you look close enough, sometimes you'll find a bottle of Lucas' whiskey he's stashed away.Exits: Gottin's Lamp - Bar Gottin's Lamp - Sleeping Area
[ 2015.05.06 15:23:38 ] Aria Jenneth > ((I tend to keep emoting in the Bar area unless someone closes the kitchen door. Smile ))
    [ 2015.05.06 15:25:00 ] Aria Jenneth > ... Salve, Ms. Farel.
    [ 2015.05.06 15:26:23 ] Aria Jenneth > Um ... things are well?
[ 2015.05.06 15:30:33 ] Lyn Farel > /emote is in her usual disheveled look and redish eyes. "Oh uh... hello... Ms Jenneth." She slightly bows politely.
[ 2015.05.06 15:31:02 ] Aria Jenneth > /emote bows politely in turn, just a little lower than Lyn did*
[ 2015.05.06 15:31:13 ] Lyn Farel > "Things are...... fine." Though she doesn't look like much.
    [ 2015.05.06 15:31:40 ] Aria Jenneth > /emote doesn't look in especially good shape, either.
[ 2015.05.06 15:32:21 ] Aria Jenneth > /emote which is maybe why she doesn't seem to notice that Lyn's face doesn't quite match her word. "I'm ... glad to hear it...."
[ 2015.05.06 15:33:04 ] Lyn Farel > /emote glances apprehensively at the door, in the direction of the bar. "How... things are well for you.. ?"
    [ 2015.05.06 15:35:37 ] Aria Jenneth > ... well ... I've been ... working on a security issue for the Praefecta ...
[ 2015.05.06 15:36:36 ] Lyn Farel > /emote puts some water to boil and prepares her favorite little flat bowl.
[ 2015.05.06 15:38:03 ] Aria Jenneth > ... it's sort of like banging my head against a wall for most of the day, lately.
    [ 2015.05.06 15:38:25 ] Lyn Farel > "R... really ?"
    [ 2015.05.06 15:38:36 ] Aria Jenneth > ... complete with the concussion. *she sighs*
    [ 2015.05.06 15:39:14 ] Aria Jenneth > I'm making progress, but ...
    [ 2015.05.06 15:39:26 ] Aria Jenneth > ... ... well, I hope I'm making progress.
[ 2015.05.06 15:40:49 ] Lyn Farel > /emote looks curious and pours green tea leafs into the bowl.
    [ 2015.05.06 15:41:09 ] Lyn Farel > "A security issue ? Like in data security ... ?"
    [ 2015.05.06 15:41:22 ] Aria Jenneth > Pretty much exactly like that.
[ 2015.05.06 15:41:42 ] Aria Jenneth > Information's been ... leaking out of the corporate network, into enemy hands.
    [ 2015.05.06 15:41:58 ] Aria Jenneth > It's not "spy" sorts of things.
[ 2015.05.06 15:42:40 ] Aria Jenneth > ... it's "well-concealed data tap" sorts of things. So maybe don't say ... anything over the corporate system you don't want to ... see a Blooder taunting you with, later.
    [ 2015.05.06 15:43:32 ] Aria Jenneth > *she pours herself a cup of coffee*
[ 2015.05.06 15:43:45 ] Lyn Farel > I... see... That sounds intriguing.... I suppose the praefecta wants it fixed rather than having everything changed... ?
    [ 2015.05.06 15:44:56 ] Aria Jenneth > *nods*
    [ 2015.05.06 15:45:24 ] Aria Jenneth > ... but it's really well-hidden. I've been hunting it off and on for ... over a month, now.
    [ 2015.05.06 15:45:38 ] Aria Jenneth > ... Only, now the Praefecta's set it to highest priority ...
[ 2015.05.06 15:46:04 ] Aria Jenneth > ... do ... you get on well with computers, Lyn? I could maybe use some help.
[ 2015.05.06 15:47:11 ] Aria Jenneth > Two Anathemas ... might be better than one for this.
[ 2015.05.06 15:50:11 ] Lyn Farel > "Oh uh... I am doing ok with them... I mean, recently I helped Chuujo Lavius with a tapped signal but... I was mostly able to see the patterns, actually.... I am not sure if I am an expert in computing though..."
    [ 2015.05.06 15:51:19 ] Aria Jenneth > Well ... you fly an Anathema ... is she hacking-capable?
    [ 2015.05.06 15:52:51 ] Lyn Farel > /emote nods. "Tech 2 hacking equipment. I can use that..."
    [ 2015.05.06 15:53:42 ] Aria Jenneth > That's ... pretty much expertise, I think....
[ 2015.05.06 15:54:16 ] Lyn Farel > /emote notices that her water is boiling, and daintily fills her bowl, steam rising above intertwined with tea aromas.
    [ 2015.05.06 15:54:40 ] Lyn Farel > "I suppose you are right..."
[ 2015.05.06 15:55:08 ] Aria Jenneth > ... I'll forward you what I've got so far. It's not a usual hacking job, which is ... part of why it's breaking my head.
[ 2015.05.06 15:55:59 ] Aria Jenneth > It's more like hunting for a single beetle in a storage unit full of grain.
    [ 2015.05.06 15:56:27 ] Aria Jenneth > *she sighs*
    [ 2015.05.06 15:57:15 ] Aria Jenneth > Um. If ... if you're willing to help, that is.
[ 2015.05.06 15:58:28 ] Aria Jenneth > Also ... once we find it, it's to be traced, not destroyed.
[ 2015.05.06 15:58:52 ] Aria Jenneth > The Praefecta wants to ... find the people responsible.
    [ 2015.05.06 15:59:02 ] Lyn Farel > "Oh... sure... ! I think I can help."
[ 2015.05.06 16:01:57 ] Aria Jenneth > *breaks all of a sudden into a huge, genuine smile, just beaming*
    [ 2015.05.06 16:02:12 ] Aria Jenneth > ... thank you, Lyn. That's ... kind of the best news I've had all week.
[ 2015.05.06 16:02:26 ] Lyn Farel > "is that a signal that people are l...?" She notices Aria's reaction and blushes instead.
    [ 2015.05.06 16:03:53 ] Aria Jenneth > ... um ... that people are ... which?
[ 2015.05.06 16:04:33 ] Aria Jenneth > *she sips her coffee, abruptly all business again*
[ 2015.05.06 16:04:33 ] Lyn Farel > "Uh sorry. That people are looking for."
    [ 2015.05.06 16:04:57 ] Aria Jenneth > I've tried. The thing is, I don't think it's a regular signal at all.
[ 2015.05.06 16:05:11 ] Lyn Farel > /emote focuses on her tea and blows upon it.
[ 2015.05.06 16:05:21 ] Aria Jenneth > ... It's probably a data packet slipping out amid normal traffic every now and then, at irregular intervals.
[ 2015.05.06 16:07:23 ] Lyn Farel > "I-RED and Mr Lavius had a similar issue... The signal was actually hidden in the wavelenght patterns of a specific broadcasted music through a local radio."
[ 2015.05.06 16:07:23 ] Aria Jenneth > Encrypted, so ... a pack of meaningless noise to any system along the line that isn't specifically watching for it. That's my guess, anyway; I haven't been ... able to just find the signal.
    [ 2015.05.06 16:08:07 ] Aria Jenneth > That sounds about right.
[ 2015.05.06 16:09:44 ] Lyn Farel > "So basically, there was no packet difference between what should have been out and what was actually out of the system... Instead of sending packets, it just... inserted recognizable patterns into the system electronic noise, just changing slightly
[ 2015.05.06 16:09:46 ] Aria Jenneth > *Aria's return to business-face hasn't quite reached her eyes, which are looking about a thousand times happier about being open and awake instead of closed in sweet oblivion*
    [ 2015.05.06 16:09:46 ] Lyn Farel > their composition."
[ 2015.05.06 16:10:45 ] Aria Jenneth > That sounds right. I've been looking for things like that, but ... well, apparently it looks like noise to my diagnostics, too.
[ 2015.05.06 16:11:18 ] Lyn Farel > /emote seems to be a bit more oblivious to her own issues, and takes a sip of her tea, both hands holding her steaming bowl.
[ 2015.05.06 16:11:21 ] Aria Jenneth > If I've even looked in the right spot. It's why I'm spending my time looking for the cricket instead of the chirp.
    [ 2015.05.06 16:12:05 ] Lyn Farel > /emote nods.
[ 2015.05.06 16:12:44 ] Lyn Farel > "Maybe I can locate and separate patterns.... I am uh... good at finding patterns... Or I think."
    [ 2015.05.06 16:15:11 ] Aria Jenneth > That ... sounds good.
    [ 2015.05.06 16:18:33 ] Lyn Farel > "Where should I start... ?3
    [ 2015.05.06 16:18:47 ] Aria Jenneth > ... I guess I'll keep looking for the ... hm? Well ...
[ 2015.05.06 16:20:04 ] Aria Jenneth > ... it might just be good to take a look at general outgoing traffic from our system with ... fresh eyes. I don't know how often the cricket chirps, which is a problem. And it's probably irregular....
[ 2015.05.06 16:23:19 ] Lyn Farel > "How did Ms Daphiti.. noticed something was going on.. ?3
    [ 2015.05.06 16:29:57 ] Aria Jenneth > I guess one of her enemies ...
[ 2015.05.06 16:30:15 ] Aria Jenneth > ... taunted her with something they couldn't have ... found out any other way than with a data tap.
[ 2015.05.06 16:30:56 ] Aria Jenneth > ... I could be misinterpreting, but ... you remember the short war she declared last month?
    [ 2015.05.06 16:31:13 ] Aria Jenneth > I think that was the result.
[ 2015.05.06 16:33:27 ] Lyn Farel > "Ah.... So it was not about a... uh... an emotive war declaration."
    [ 2015.05.06 16:33:49 ] Aria Jenneth > ... well ... um. I didn't quite say that.
    [ 2015.05.06 16:34:04 ] Aria Jenneth > ... She was pretty upset. A ... matter of honor, I guess.
[ 2015.05.06 16:34:52 ] Aria Jenneth > ... so ... I think the war was more about the honor issue. But finding the tap is still important.
[ 2015.05.06 16:35:24 ] Aria Jenneth > ... It's not even necessarily those same people it leads to. Someone could have passed them that information.
[ 2015.05.06 16:37:08 ] Lyn Farel > /emote nods, while finishing her tea agonishly slowly. "Maybe I should get to work then..."
    [ 2015.05.06 16:40:13 ] Aria Jenneth > ... likewise, I guess. *she sighs once more*
    [ 2015.05.06 16:40:34 ] Aria Jenneth > ... It's ... been weeks. It's kind of hard not to get discouraged.
    [ 2015.05.06 16:41:50 ] Lyn Farel > "I... understand. I will try not to get discouraged then!"
    [ 2015.05.06 16:46:19 ] Aria Jenneth > ... me, too. Having help will ... well, help. A lot.
    [ 2015.05.06 16:46:25 ] Aria Jenneth > Thank you, Ms. Farel.
[ 2015.05.06 16:49:52 ] Lyn Farel > /emote bows. "I... thank you for your help with... that sojourn issue then."
[ 2015.05.06 16:51:57 ] Lyn Farel > /emote ponders. "Is there somewhere in there that is a terminal for server rooms or something ... ?"
    [ 2015.05.06 16:52:09 ] Lyn Farel > "I do not know where to connect."
    [ 2015.05.06 16:54:05 ] Aria Jenneth > ... I've been just ...
[ 2015.05.06 16:55:11 ] Aria Jenneth > ... well, connecting the Inkstone directly to the corporate system.
[ 2015.05.06 16:55:52 ] Aria Jenneth > ... and using that as a sort of ... hardware extension. Sort of. ... With my own security up, of course....
    [ 2015.05.06 16:56:35 ] Aria Jenneth > ((I don't know whether there's a specific, central server room....))
    [ 2015.05.06 16:56:40 ] Lyn Farel > "Oh i see! Maybe I should do the same."
[ 2015.05.06 16:57:02 ] Lyn Farel > (( no idea but she was just lookjing for where to connect anyway ))
[ 2015.05.06 17:00:55 ] Lyn Farel > /emote scratches her head. "Maybe I should go..." She glances once more weirdly, apprehensively, in the direction of the main room where Kaile was.
    [ 2015.05.06 17:01:19 ] Aria Jenneth > ...?
[ 2015.05.06 17:01:27 ] Aria Jenneth > Well ... we probably should get to work.
[ 2015.05.06 17:01:48 ] Aria Jenneth > I'll be available over the network if you want to coordinate anything.
[ 2015.05.06 17:02:00 ] Aria Jenneth > ... hm. Private comms might be better, actually.
    [ 2015.05.06 17:02:10 ] Aria Jenneth > For ... obvious reasons.
[ 2015.05.06 17:02:25 ] Aria Jenneth > ... sorry. I've been working alone on this a little too long, maybe.
[ 2015.05.06 17:02:58 ] Aria Jenneth > *she bows* Thank you ... for your help, Lyn.
    [ 2015.05.06 17:03:07 ] Aria Jenneth > I was kind of hating the ... idea of today.
[ 2015.05.06 17:06:30 ] Lyn Farel > /emote nods "Well if you do want to... uh. Get some rest ? I mean, except if that really is important... Also, you are a guest... Is that suitable to request that guests solve everyone of our problems ?"
    [ 2015.05.06 17:06:39 ] Lyn Farel > /emote ponders, then shrugs.
    [ 2015.05.06 17:06:51 ] Lyn Farel > "Protocol confuses me."
    [ 2015.05.06 17:08:34 ] Aria Jenneth > ... not ... every one, maybe.
[ 2015.05.06 17:08:45 ] Aria Jenneth > But I did ask to be part of the corporation.
    [ 2015.05.06 17:08:53 ] Aria Jenneth > ... and ... I'm not allowed to kill people, so ...
[ 2015.05.06 17:09:18 ] Aria Jenneth > ... this kind of seems like the least I can do.
    [ 2015.05.06 17:10:42 ] Lyn Farel > /emote nods apologetically. "Ah, er... sorry."
    [ 2015.05.06 17:11:02 ] Lyn Farel > "I will... be in the library then."
    [ 2015.05.06 17:11:28 ] Aria Jenneth > Again ... thank you, Lyn.
    [ 2015.05.06 17:11:34 ] Aria Jenneth > *she bows once more*
[ 2015.05.06 17:12:35 ] Lyn Farel > /emote looks utterly embarassed and bows clumsily, before taking her leave, still searching for any sighing of Kaile just in case.
